Watch Portugal Score NINE Goals Without Cristiano Ronaldo In Record-Breaking Win Over Luxembourg
Portugal thrashed Luxembourg 9-0 in a record-breaking Euro 2024 qualifier on Monday night.
Goncalo Inacio, Goncalo Ramos and Diogo Jota scored two goals each in Portugal's biggest ever win at senior international level.
Ricardo Horta, Bruno Fernandes and Joao Felix also found the net at the Estadio Algarve. Fernandes claimed a hat-trick of assists.
Cristiano Ronaldo missed the game through suspension, having picked up a yellow card in a 1-0 victory over Slovakia three days earlier.
Monday's win maintained Portugal's 100% record in Group J.
Roberto Martinez's side have now won all six of their qualifying games so far, scoring 24 goals and conceding none.
Luxembourg had also been in good form prior to Monday's mauling, having previously won three matches in a row.
Portugal had never before scored nine goals in one game, but they had won 8-0 on three different occasions.
