Inter Beat AC Milan 5-1 To Set New Derby Record For Consecutive Wins
Inter Milan thrashed city rivals AC Milan 5-1 at the San Siro on Saturday to stay top of the Serie A table.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan netted twice for Inter, while Marcus Thuram, Hakan Calhanoglu and Davide Frattesi also scored for the designated home team at European soccer's most famous shared stadium.
Frattesi's goal came in the 90th minute and was followed by wild celebrations. The 23-year-old - who bagged two goals as Italy beat Ukraine on Tuesday - had never previously scored for Inter.
The Rossoneri's only goal came courtesy of Rafael Leao.
Highlights: Inter Milan 5-1 AC Milan
Inter have now won five consecutive Milan derbies in all competitions - setting a new record for the longest winning run by either side in this fixture.
The streak began in January when Inter beat AC Milan 3-0 in Saudi Arabia to win the Supercoppa Italiana.
Inter then prevailed 1-0 in Serie A in February before winning both legs of an all-Milan semi-final in the UEFA Champions League in May - 2-0 and 1-0.
