Inter Milan 3-3 Benfica (5-3 on agg)

The city of Milan is guaranteed to have one club in the final of this season's UEFA Champions League.

Inter Milan booked their spot in the semi-finals following an epic second leg against Benfica on Wednesday, 24 hours after AC Milan had seen off Napoli to reach the last four.

Last week's 2-0 win in Portugal had put Inter in a strong position and it got even stronger 14 minutes into the second leg when Nicolo Barella put the Italian side 3-0 up on aggregate.

Fredrik Aursnes gave Benfica brief hope of a miraculous comeback by netting just before half-time. But Lautaro Martinez and substitute Joaquin Correa put the tie beyond the Portuguese outfit in the second period.

Benfica were now 5-1 down on aggregate but they refused to give up and fought back to claim a deserved 3-3 draw in Italy thanks to late strikes from Antonio Silva and Petar Musa.

Both legs of Inter's semi-final against AC Milan will take place at their shared San Siro stadium.

The first game will be played on either May 9 or 10, with the second leg taking place a week later.
