Arsenal summer signing Kai Havertz had a night to forget during Tuesday's MLS All-Star Skills Challenge event at Audi Field.

The Gunners are in Washington to take on an MLS All-Star XI in an exhibition game on Wednesday evening.

On the eve of that match, the two teams faced off in five different skills-based drills - a shooting challenge, a touch challenge, a cross and volley challenge, a passing challenge, and finally a crossbar challenge.

For the cross and volley challenge, Havertz had 60 seconds to score as many goals as possible from crosses provided by teammates Jorginho and Jurrien Timber.

Fourteen crosses were aimed his way but Havertz was unable to get the ball in the net once.

He missed the target completely with eight of his attempts - including two that hit the frame of the goal - while the keeper made six saves.

Havertz, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea for a £65 million transfer fee last month - is the first player ever to score zero goals in the cross and volley challenge since the event was first introduced by the organizers of the MLS All-Star Game.

Despite, Havertz's poor performance, Arsenal went on to win the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge overall thanks to a victory in a decisive crossbar challenge.

USMNT international Auston Trusty, who joined Arsenal last year from the Colorado Rapids, struck the winning kick.
