Kevin De Bruyne Thunderbolt Earns Man City First-Leg Draw Against Real Madrid
Kevin De Bruyne scored an excellent equalizer to earn Manchester City a 1-1 draw against Real Madrid in Tuesday's Champions League semi-final first leg in Spain.
City had fallen behind to a Vinicius Junior rocket in the 36th minute but De Bruyne leveled the game midway through the second half by unleashing a thunderbolt of his own.
The Belgian midfielder nailed a low strike with the outside of his right boot from 24 yards after being teed up by Ilkay Gundogan.
Rodri had intercepted a loose pass from Eduardo Camavinga moments earlier before passing to Jack Grealish, who found Gundogan in a pocket of space.
Gundogan turned neatly inside the Real penalty area and then rolled the ball into the path of De Bruyne.
This was De Bruyne's 10th goal of the season in all competitions.
He has now scored at the Bernabeu three times.
The second leg will take place at the Etihad Stadium next Wednesday.
