Watch Erling Haaland Score FIVE Goals As Man City Batter RB Leipzig
Manchester City 7-0 RB Leipzig (8-1 on agg)
Erling Haaland scored five goals as Manchester City overpowered RB Leipzig at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.
The first leg of this round of 16 clash had ended 1-1 in Germany three weeks earlier but it took City just 45 minutes to storm into a 4-1 aggregate lead on home soil.
Haaland's first goal of the night arrived in the 22nd minute after a VAR review had seen City awarded a penalty kick for handball.
His second strike came just 19 seconds after Leipzig had restarted the game when he headed home a rebound from a fierce Kevin De Bruyne shot that had rattled the crossbar.
Haaland's hat-trick goal came from another rebound in stoppage time at the end of the first half. Ruben Dias almost scored but, as his shot rolled along the goal-line, Haaland arrived on the scene to block an attempted clearance from Amadou Haidara into the net.
Ilkay Gundogan scored City's fourth goal of the night to make it 5-1 on aggregate four minutes into the second half.
Haaland then got his fourth and fifth of the match before Pep Guardiola substituted him off with half an hour left to play. Haaland's final two goals both came from emphatic finishes inside a crowded penalty area.
De Bruyne completed the scoring with the final kick of the game from City's 15th shot on target.
