Marco Asensio Nutmegs Wesley Fofana To Score Real Madrid's Second Goal Against Chelsea
Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio scored within less than five minutes of coming on as a substitute in Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final first leg against Chelsea.
Asensio entered the action in the 71st minute as a replacement for Rodrygo, moments after a foul on the Brazilian had resulted in a red card for Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell.
With Chelsea now outnumbered, Real passed the English side to death, resulting in Asensio scoring to put Real 2-0 up.
The move started from a short corner kick taken by Luka Modric to Federico Valverde.
Valverde played the ball to Vinicius Junior, who then teed up Asensio to shoot from 19 yards.
Asensio threaded a low shot through the legs of Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana and into the bottom corner of Kepa Arrizabalaga's goal.
Karim Benzema had earlier put Real 1-0 up by scoring his 20th Champions League goal against English opposition.
Real will take a 2-0 lead into the second leg at Stamford Bridge next Tuesday.
