Mason Mount made his debut for Manchester United on Wednesday when he started in a pre-season friendly against Leeds.

The game in Oslo, Norway came seven days after Mount had completed a £60 million transfer from Chelsea.

Mount played mostly in a central role for Chelsea last season but he lined up on the left side of United's three-man attacking midfield unit on Wednesday.

Jadon Sancho was deployed in a no.10 role during the first-half, with Amad Diallo on the right and Omari Forson up front.

Mount almost scored the game's opening goal in the 11th minute when some sharp pressing led to him dispossessing Jeremiah Mullen before he hit a 30-yard lob just over the crossbar.

Mount was wearing the no.7 jersey for the first time in his career, having been allocated Cristiano Ronaldo's old squad number upon his arrival at Old Trafford.

The former Chelsea star came off at half-time on Wednesday as Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag made 11 substitutions.

Second-half goals from Noam Emeran and Joe Hugill saw the Premier League side go on to win 2-0.
