Moises Caicedo's Mum Carmen Stars In Brilliant Chelsea Announcement Video
The mother of Moises Caicedo starred in her son's announcement video on Monday after the Ecuador midfielder completed his record-breaking transfer from Brighton to Chelsea.
Caicedo, 21, joined Chelsea in a move that could earn Brighton more than £115 million.
That deal saw Caicedo replace new Chelsea teammate Enzo Fernandez as the most expensive player in the history of British soccer.
Caicedo had also been wanted by Liverpool, who had a £111m offer accepted by Brighton last week.
But Caicedo rejected a move to Anfield because he had his heart set on joining Chelsea.
Caicedo had been pictured in a Chelsea jersey when he was a teenager. A photo of him decked out in Chelsea blue while sat next to his mother in the trunk of a car had previously gone viral on social media.
Chelsea recreated that scene to make Caicedo's announcement video.
The video begins with mum Carmen waiting for her son at the back of a blue car parked at Chelsea's training center.
Moises then enters the scene and hugs his mother, who says in Spanish: "Today is the day, my son."
He replies: "Mum, do you remember when that photo was taken?"
"Yes son, I remember. It was in Cayambe in 2020," she replies.
Moises then says: "A lot of time has passed since then but finally it's happened."
The video concludes with Carmen congratulating her son for fulfilling "the family's dream".
