Roy Keane Helps Launch New Man United Third Kit That Does Not Feature Famous Club Crest
Manchester United officially unveiled their new third kit for the 2023/24 season on Tuesday.
The strip is mostly white but the jersey features a red collar, while the logos of adidas and shirt sponsor TeamViewer are also red.
Instead of featuring United's famous club crest, the jersey and shorts are both emblazoned with a red illustration of a devil.
United, nicknamed the Red Devils, used Roy Keane - one of their most famous former captains - to promote the launch of their new kit.
Keane starred in and narrated an 87-second video that began with him asking: "So you're a devil, are you?"
The video - which also featured current stars Marcus Rashford, Casemiro and Ella Toone in non-speaking roles - then continues with Keane saying: "Well, let's remind you of the terms.
"The devil isn't something you wear. It's more like a pact. A deal, shall we say? It's not for everyone. We expect a lot.
"And as sure as the sun will rise. We will know if you mean it. So have a good long think.
"What do you get in return!? What's on offer? It's Manchester United!
"So there it is. No small print. Sign on the dotted line. But you already signed, didn't you? Before you were even born."
This was Keane's first formal appearance in any media officially connected with United since he left the club by mutual consent as a player in 2005.
Tuesday's video campaign was led by adidas but United had sign-off and also shared it on official club social media channels.
United's 2023/24 home jersey is red, while the club's away shirt for the upcoming season is dark green with white and red stripes.
