Phil Foden Scores Manchester City's 1,000th Goal Of The Pep Guardiola Era

Manchester City have now recorded exactly 1,000 goals since hiring Pep Guardiola as manager in the summer of 2016.

Phil Foden scored City's landmark goal with a deflected volley during Wednesday's 3-0 win over West Ham United.

Foden's 85th-minute strike came after Nathan Ake and Erling Haaland had earlier found the net at the Etihad Stadium.

Wednesday's game was Guardiola's 404th game as City boss.

He has guided his team to victory in 294 of those games, drawing 53 and losing 57.

Guardiola's City side have conceded 331 times, meaning their goal difference is currently +669.

Since Guardiola came to Manchester in 2016, City have been the highest-scoring Premier League team across all competitions.

Liverpool have scored 797 times during the same period, while Tottenham and Arsenal have netted 713 and 706 goals respectively.

Fifty-one of City's 1,000 goals under Guardiola have come courtesy of Haaland, who set a new Premier League record during Wednesday's win.

Haaland became the first player in EPL history to score 35 league goals in a single season.
