Raheem Sterling Argues With Cole Palmer Over Who Should Take Chelsea Penalty Against Arsenal
Cole Palmer scored the second goal of his Chelsea career by converting a penalty kick 15 minutes into Saturday's Premier League game against Arsenal.
The penalty was awarded after a VAR review found William Saliba guilty of blocking a Mykhailo Mudryk header with his left hand.
Once referee Chris Kavanagh had pointed to the penalty spot, Palmer was quick to grab the ball.
But he was not the only player keen to take the kick.
Raheem Sterling attempted to grab the ball off Palmer, before teammate Enzo Fernandez intervened and sided with the 21-year-old.
Sterling looked disappointed but he was soon over it.
The former Liverpool and Manchester City forward was one of the first players to hug Palmer after he coolly slotted past David Raya from 12 yards.
Palmer's goal put Chelsea 1-0 up.
A spectacular fluke by Mykhailo Mudryk doubled Chelsea's lead early in the second half.
But late strikes from Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard earned Arsenal a 2-2 draw.
