Rasmus Hojlund's First Premier League Goal For Manchester United Completes Comeback Win Over Aston Villa
Rasmus Hojlund scored the first goal of his Premier League career on Boxing Day as Manchester United came from 2-0 down to beat Aston Villa 3-2.
Before finally putting the ball in the net against Villa, Hojlund had racked up 1,026 minutes of Premier League game time without scoring.
But his drought ended in the 81st minute of his 15th EPL game for United.
Hojlund nailed a left-footed volley to put United 3-2 up after Villa had failed to clear following a Bruno Fernandes corner kick.
This was Hojlund's sixth goal for United in all competitions.
His previous five had all come in the UEFA Champions League before United's elimination at the end of the group stage.
Hojlund's winner against Villa sparked wild celebrations at Old Trafford.
The mood among home fans had been far less buoyant in the first half after goals from John McGinn and Leander Dendoncker had given Villa a commanding lead inside 26 minutes.
But United looked like a totally different team after half-time.
Alejandro Garnacho scored twice, after also having a goal disallowed, to tie to game at 2-2 before Hojlund capped a stunning comeback.

United bought Hojlund from Atalanta in August.
According to Sky Sports, United paid Atalanta an initial transfer fee of £64 million, with £8m in add-ons.
United's decision to splash out on the Denmark international came after he had scored nine goals in 32 appearances in Italy's Serie A during the 2022/23 season.
Hojlund netted nine times in 18 matches for Sturm Graz in the Austrian Bundesliga in the previous season.
Although Hojlund has been a first-team regular at United since his arrival, it is widely accepted that he is not yet the finished article.
Hojlund was aged just 20 years, 10 months and 22 days on Boxing Day.
