Manchester United won 2-1 away at Aston Villa on Sunday to boost their chances of qualifying for next season's UEFA Champions League.

Rasmus Hojlund scored for the fifth Premier League game in a row when he fired United in front in the 17th minute.

Douglas Luiz equalized for Villa midway through the second half but substitute Scott McTominay headed home a fine winner for the Red Devils with four minutes remaining.

Sunday's victory moved United to within five points of Villa in fifth place and left them just six behind Tottenham in fourth.

The top four teams in England will be guaranteed a place in next season's Champions League, while there is currently around a 77% chance that fifth spot will also be enough.

United have now won three EPL games in a row.

Meanwhile, Unai Emery's side have suffered three straight home defeats in all competitions, having won 15 consecutive matches at Villa Park between March and December 2023.
