Tottenham claimed pre-season silverware on Wednesday after beating a local team in Singapore.

Spurs have not won a real trophy since February 2008 but they got their hands on the Tiger Cup following a 5-1 victory in a one-off game against Lion City Sailors in Kallang.

Richarlison lifted a shiny gold trophy - emblazoned with the logo of Singapore's most famous beer - after scoring a second-half hat-trick.

Spurs named a completely different XI in each half at the Singapore National Stadium.

The first period ended 1-1 after a late Harry Kane penalty kick cancelled out a shock opener from the team that had finished second in last year's Singapore Premier League.

Kane was replaced by Richarlison at half-time and the Brazilian went on to steal the show by doubling his career goal tally for Spurs.

Giovani Lo Celso also found the net in a game that witnessed some chaotic defending.

Spurs had originally been scheduled to play Roma in Singapore but Jose Mourinho's team pulled out earlier this month, before being replaced by Lion City.

Tottenham's pre-season was further disrupted last week when heavy rainfall in Bangkok forced Sunday's friendly against Leicester to be canceled.

Next up for Spurs is a home game against Shakhtar Donetsk in London on August 6.

Two days later, Ange Postecoglou's men will compete for more pre-season silverware when they take on Barcelona in the Joan Gamper Trophy final.
