Romelu Lukaku Scores First Roma Goal In 7-0 Win Over Empoli
Romelu Lukaku scored the first goal of his Roma career on Sunday in a 7-0 win over Empoli in Serie A.
Roma had started the weekend in the relegation zone after taking just one point from their opening three games of the season.
But Jose Mourinho's side jumped up to 12th after scoring seven goals in one game for the first time since 2006.
Paulo Dybala began the rout by converting a penalty kick in the second minute.
Renato Sanches doubled Roma's lead with a fine header inside eight minutes before an Alberto Grassi own goal made it 3-0.
Dybala then netted his second goal of the game before being subbed off for Andrea Belotti, who recorded two assists.
Belotti first teed up Bryan Cristante to hammer a powerful shot into the top corner from 28 yards.
The former Torino striker then produced a neat through pass to set up Lukaku for a first-time right-footed finish.
Gianluca Mancini headed in goal no.7 following a backheeled assist by Cristante.
This was Lukaku's second appearance for Roma since joining on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea on August 31.
