Three players were shown red cards after Inter Milan salvaged a 1-1 draw away to Juventus in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final.

Romelu Lukaku was the first to be sent off in Turin.

The Inter striker was issued with a second yellow card for appearing to taunt the home fans after converting a penalty kick to equalize four minutes into added time.

Lukaku initially celebrated by putting his right hand over his forehead and raising his left hand to his mouth.

The Belgian striker has performed this celebration routine many times before, so his dismissal was likely caused by what he did next.

Lukaku was seen shouting something towards the crowd, a large section of which had been booing him throughout the match.

There were also widespread reports on social media that Lukaku had been racially abused by fans making monkey noises during the game.

After showing Lukaku a red card, referee Davide Massa was surrounded by players from both teams.

Juan Cuadrado, who had earlier scored to put Juventus 1-0 up, then said something to Lukaku. The two former Chelsea players pushed each other before being split up by teammates.

Cuadrado was shown a yellow card and once Lukaku had left the field the game restarted, albeit for less than 10 seconds before Massa blew his whistle to signal for full-time.

But Massa's work for the day was far from over.

Cuadrado and Inter Milan goalkeeper Samir Handanovic had a verbal disagreement on the field after the game. This then developed into a more physical altercation after Cuadrado pushed Handanovic.

Handanovic attempted to retaliate but was held back by a member of coaching staff. While Handanovic was being restrained, Cuadrado appeared to throw a punch at him.

Cuadrado, Handanovic and Lukaku are now all likely to be suspended for the second leg, which will take place at the San Siro on April 26.
