Arsenal Cruise to Record-Equaling 6-0 Away Win at Sheffield United
Arsenal won 6-0 for the second time in little over three weeks by battering Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Monday night.
The Gunners had set a new club record for their biggest Premier League away win by hitting West Ham for six on February 11.
That record was equaled 22 days on but it likely would have been smashed to pieces had Mikel Arteta's side not eased off in the second half.
Arsenal were 5-0 up before half-time thanks to strikes from Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz and Declan Rice, plus a Jayden Bogle own goal.
Ben White then completed the rout 12 minutes into the second half with a powerful left-footed strike after being teed up by Havertz.
With the game already won, Arteta opted to rest several senior stars during the second half.
Saka was replaced at half-time before Martinelli, White, Rice and Jorginho also came off early.
The Gunners now boast the best goal difference (+45) of any team in England's top six divisions this season.
Meanwhile, Sheffield United appear to be in real danger of breaking Derby County's record for the most goals conceded in a 38-game Premier League season.
Derby let in 89 goals in the 2007/08 campaign. The Blades have conceded 72 in 27 matches so far.
