Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was not impressed by a question about Luka Modric following his team's 5-2 loss to Real Madrid on Tuesday.

Modric was one of the best players on the pitch as Real stormed back from 2-0 down to establish a huge lead in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 clash.

The 37-year-old has been at Real for more than a decade but his current contract is set to expire in June.

During Klopp's post-game press conference at Anfield, a Spanish journalist brought up the subject of Modric's contract situation.

It did not go down well with Klopp.

The journalist said to Klopp, via a translator: "Yesterday in a press conference, Luka Modric said that he wanted to stay on at Real Madrid and sign another contract but he wanted it to be deserved and not just presented to him.

"If you had the chance to offer Modric a new contract for your team would you do it?"

Klopp replied: "Oh god. You obviously are not too much interested in my problems. This is not one of my problems."

He continued: "Yeah, fantastic player and I'm pretty sure Carlo [Ancelotti] and Real Madrid will do the right thing for the right player."

A sarcastic Klopp then added: "Please ask more questions about Real Madrid players."
