Leicester defender Timothy Castagne nearly scored one of the most outrageous own goals in Premier League history on Saturday.

Castagne's lucky escape came in the 33rd minute of Leicester's home game against Tottenham.

The Belgium international intercepted an attempted through pass from Harry Kane before Leicester keeper Danny Ward came charging out of his goal.

Ward looked poised to take the ball off Castagne but the defender, running towards his own goal, dribbled around the keeper.

Castagne then lost his balance, which caused him to kick the ball towards an open goal.

But luckily for Leicester, his miskick landed just wide and resulted only in a Spurs corner, rather than a goal.

Leicester were leading 2-1 at this point and they went on to win 4-1.
