World heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury believes that Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the history of soccer.

Fury is currently in Saudi Arabia preparing to fight former MMA star Francis Ngannou in Riyadh, home of Ronaldo's Al Nassr side.

Ronaldo was a guest at the pre-fight gala dinner on Friday night.

Mike Tyson, Oleksandr Usyk, Eminem, Rio Ferdinand and the Brazilian Ronaldo were also in attendance.

After the formal ceremony was over, Fury and Portugal captain Ronaldo were seen relaxing on a sofa in a video posted to social media by Turki Alalshikh, who owns La Liga club Almeria in Spain.

In the video, Fury, 35, turned to Ronaldo, 38, and told him: "Cristiano, you are the greatest footballer that's ever lived and I mean that."

Ronaldo - who has scored more goals than any other player in soccer history - responded by thanking Fury for his kind words before they shared a firm handshake.

Fury then added: "I'm a big fan. I watch all the football. I watched you when you were at [Manchester] United the first time and the second time, all the Real Madrid [games]."

United fan Fury lives in Morecambe, which is around 60 miles from Manchester by car.

However, he told Ronaldo that he does not often go to watch games live because all of the attention that he receives makes it like "torture".
