England made it two wins from two group games at the 2023 FIFA U17 World Cup by coming from behind to beat Iran 2-1 on Tuesday.

Iran - three days on from beating Brazil 3-2 - went ahead in the first half when Abolfazl Zamani bundled home from close range after England had failed to clear from a corner kick.

But the Young Lions hit back in the 63rd minute thanks to a fine goal from Reiss-Alexander Russell-Denny.

Chelsea midfielder Russell-Denny - who had also been on target in a 10-0 win over New Caledonia last week - slid home a sweet shot from 18 yards after dribbling with the ball from deep.

England's winning goal arrived with just 16 seconds of normal time remaining.

Manchester City forward Joel Ndala initially attempted to dance around the Iran goalkeeper but had the ball pinched off his toes.

However, the keeper then spilled the ball towards Ndala, who produced a stunning first-time finish to curl a shot into the net from a tricky angle.

England now have six points out of two games and will reach the last 16 even if they lose to Brazil on Friday.
