Cristiano Ronaldo Scores His First Goal Of 2023/24 Season As Al Nassr Thrash Tunisia's USM In Arab Club Champions Cup
Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first goal of the 2023/24 season on Monday.
It came 74 minutes into Al Nassr's 4-1 win over Tunisian team Union Sportive Monastirienne in the Arab Club Champions Cup.
Ronaldo headed home at the far post following a deep cross from Sultan Al-Ghannam.
That made the score 2-1 to Al Nassr after an Ali Alawjami own goal had earlier cancelled out Talisca's opener.
Ronaldo almost scored again from another header moments later but he was denied by a sharp save, before Abdulelah Al-Amri pounced to convert the rebound.
Teenager Abdulaziz Saud Al Elewai then completed the rout in the 90th minute.
Monday's game came three days after Al Nassr had started their Arab Club Champions Cup campaign with a 0-0 draw against fellow Saudi side Al-Shabab.
A frustrated Ronaldo squirted water at a cameraman following that stalemate.
But the 38-year-old appeared to be in a much better mood after his side's convincing victory over USM.
Al Nassr will play Egyptian champions Zamalek in their final group game on Thursday, needing only a point to qualify for the next round.
The top two teams from each group of four will progress to the quarter-finals, which will take place next weekend.
Ronaldo has now scored 15 goals for Al Nassr, having netted 14 times in 19 games last season.
