Watch Ella Toone Make History By Finishing Off Brilliant Team Goal In Women's Finalissima

Ella Toone made history at a packed Wembley Stadium on Thursday night by scoring the first ever goal in the Women's Finalissima.

It arrived 23 minutes into the game to put England 1-0 up against Brazil.

Manchester United forward Toone finished with a low shot from inside the penalty area to cap off a brilliant flowing team move by the Lionesses.

Leah Williamson played a short forward pass to Lauren James, who turned quickly before spreading the ball wide for Lucy Bronze. Barcelona right-back Bronze then played a neat one-two with Georgia Stanway before teeing up Toone to score from 10 yards.

England went on to beat Brazil 4-2 in a penalty shootout after the game finished 1-1 in normal time.

Thursday's game was the first edition of the Women's Finalissima, pitting the champions of Europe against the best team from South America.

There have been three editions of the men's event to date, with Argentina beating Italy 3-0 last year in the most recent game.
