Liverpool Win Thriller Against Nottingham Forest After Scoring Three Goals From Set-Pieces
Liverpool 3-2 Nottingham Forest
Liverpool scored three goals from set-pieces to win a pulsating Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Diogo Jota gave Liverpool the lead in the 47th minute at Anfield and then scored again eight minutes later after Neco Williams had leveled for the visitors.
Forest equalized for the second time with 23 minutes remaining when Morgan Gibbs-White scored his third goal of the season to make it 2-2.
But Mo Salah restored Liverpool's advantage moments later.
Jota's first goal was a close-range header after Forest had failed to clear a Trent Alexander-Arnold corner.
His second was a clean three-touch finish following a free-kick from Andy Robertson.
Liverpool had spent most of the afternoon attacking so it was somewhat surprising when Forest briefly leveled the scores for the first time.
Williams had started his career at Liverpool and made 33 appearances for the Merseyside outfit.
But this was his first ever goal at Anfield. It came from a deflected strike after Liverpool were caught out by a quick throw-in.
Gibbs-White's goal was much more pleasing on the eye but again Forest's parity lasted less than five minutes.
Salah got on the end of an Alexander-Arnold free-kick to score his 183rd Liverpool goal.
The Egyptian is now joint-sixth on the list of Liverpool's all-time leading scorers.
