United beat Arsenal 2-0 in 90 minutes thanks to goals from Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho.

Fernandes opened the scoring from long range when his hopeful effort skidded under Gunners keeper Aaron Ramsdale.

Another Arsenal error contributed to United's second goal. Center-back Gabriel missed the ball when attempting to intercept a long hoof forward by Aaron Wan-Bissaka, allowing Sancho to sprint in behind before smashing a shot into the top corner of Ramsdale's net.

After the game, the teams contested a penalty shootout. United won that too, prevailing 5-3 on spot-kicks.

Martin Odegaard, Leandro Trossard and Jorginho netted for the Gunners but Fabio Vieira missed the target from 12 yards.

Casemiro, Diogo Dalot, Victor Lindelof and Marcus Rashford all converted their penalties for United, before Christian Eriksen struck the winning kick.
