N'Golo Kante Golazo And Epic Assist Help Send Al-Ittihad Top Of Saudi Pro League
In his prime, N'Golo Kante was widely considered to be one of the best defensive midfielders in the world.
But the 32-year-old former Leicester and Chelsea star showed off his attacking qualities on Thursday night.
Kante scored a brilliant goal and provided a stunning assist as Al-Ittihad beat Al Fateh 2-1 in the Saudi Pro League.
That result saw Al-Ittihad go top of the table by leapfrogging Al-Hilal, who dropped two points in a 1-1 draw at Damac.
Al Fateh took the lead against Al-Ittihad when Marwane Saadane headed in from a Mourad Batna free-kick after 30 minutes.
But the reigning champions equalized eight minutes later thanks to a goal scored by Romarinho and made by Kante.
The France midfielder collected the ball 40 yards from goal before dribbling past two players and rolling a pass into the path of Romarinho, who finished cleanly inside the penalty area.
Kante then completed the turnaround in first-half added time following more fine footwork.
After dancing around a challenge from Saadane, Kante curled a superb shot into the top corner, via the crossbar, from 19 yards.
This was Kante's first goal since November 2021.
