Rasmus Hojlund Scores First Goal For Manchester United In 4-3 Champions League Defeat At Bayern Munich
Rasmus Hojlund scored the first goal of his Manchester United career on Wednesday.
It came 49 minutes into United's UEFA Champions League Group A opener away at Bayern Munich.
Hojlund found the net with a clinical two-touch finish following an assist by Marcus Rashford.
The 20-year-old's goal brought United back into the game as it made the score 2-1 to Bayern following first-half strikes by Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry.
Hojlund, who joined United from Italian side Atalanta in a deal worth £72 million in August, was visibly thrilled as he punched the air inside the Allianz Arena.
But his joy was short-lived.
Bayern restored their two-goal lead less than five minutes later when Harry Kane converted a penalty kick awarded for a Christian Eriksen handball.
It was 3-2 in the 88th minute thanks to an improvised finish from Casemiro, who poked a low shot past Sven Ulreich while laying on his back inside the penalty area.
Mathys Tel then scored Bayern's fourth moments after coming on as a late substitute.
Casemiro found the net again deep into added time when he headed home from close range following a wicked Bruno Fernandes free-kick.
That proved to be the final action of the game as Bayern held on to win 4-3.
