Vinicius Junior scored an extraordinary goal for Real Madrid following a mistake by Liverpool keeper Alisson Becker on Tuesday night.

The goal arrived in the 36th minute to draw Real level at 2-2.

Junior had scored a fine individual goal 15 minutes earlier after evading four defenders inside a crowded penalty area.

But his second goal of the night was more than a little lucky.

It came after Liverpool center-back Joe Gomez had played a short pass towards Alisson.

The keeper hesitated slightly before attempting to clear the ball and it cost him.

Alisson kicked the ball straight at Vinicius and then watched on helplessly as it bounced back over his head and landed in the net.

Vinicius had not even been looking at the ball when Alisson kicked it.

This was not the first goalkeeping howler of the night.

Real keeper Thibaut Courtois presented Mo Salah with a gift in the 14th minute as Liverpool stormed into a 2-0 lead.

Darwin Nunez had earlier opened the scoring inside four minutes with a cheeky backheeled finish.

But Real stormed back and eventually won 5-2.

After Vinicius had scored twice, Eder Militao headed Real in front early in the second half.

Benzema then added two goals as Real scored five in an away game for the first time since October 2021.
