Manchester City's players were greeted by music legend Elton John upon their return from London after Saturday's FA Cup final win over Manchester United.

Sir Elton, 76, posed for photographs with multiple members of the team after City's private plane had touched down at Manchester Airport.

Elton was leaving Manchester after playing three live shows there in the past week.

City manager Pep Guardiola is a big fan of the singer and had been at one of those shows.

But the roles were reversed on Saturday night as Pep and his coaching staff put on a musical performance for Elton by singing Your Song.

Footage of this bizarre interaction swiftly went viral on social media.

One video concluded with Elton giving the City players a team-talk in an attempt to motivate them ahead of next weekend's Champions League final against Inter Milan.

"One more next week, come on, come on," said Elton while waving his fists enthusiastically.
