Wout Weghorst appeared to be on the verge of tears after scoring at Old Trafford for the first time in his career.

The Dutch striker gobbled up a rebound to fire home the final goal of the night as Manchester United thrashed Real Betis 4-1 in the Europa League on Thursday.

Weghorst's goal was fairly unspectacular but his passionate celebration made up for that.

As he sprinted over to the corner flag with both fists clenched, Weghorst was seen and heard screaming with delight.

He slid on his knees before being overcome with emotion.

The other United players then surrounded him, with defender Lisandro Martinez looking particularly delighted for his teammate.

After the game, Weghorst posted on Instagram: "WE. ARE. UNITED!

"Magical atmosphere at Old Trafford again! TEAM 100. Thank you all for the incredible support. #goosebumps".

Weghorst, 30, joined United on loan from Burnley in January.

He has now scored two goals in 15 games for United.

His first Red Devils goal came back in January during a 3-0 away win at Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup.
