The Paris 2024 Olympic Games are a little more than six months away and the picture of who we'll be seeing vying for the gold is starting to come into focus. This will be surfing's second Olympic competition, and while the rest of the athletes will be doing their thing around Paris, the surfers head to Tahiti's infamous, left-hand, reef break Teahupo'o ... which translated means "Wall Of Skulls."

Over the course of the next few months we'll see more surfers from around the world add their name to this list, but to get everyone up to speed, this is who's in so far and how they got there:

How To Qualify For Paris 2024 Olympic Games

Surfing's qualifying period for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games begins in September 2022 and ends in June 2024.

There will be 48 surfers competing in the Paris Games—24 men and 24 women. This is eight more surfers than competed in surfing’s Olympic debut in Tokyo. Each country will be able to qualify a maximum of four surfers.

The top ten men and women from the 2023 Championship Tour have already earned their spots for 2024. The top five surfers at the 2024 ISA World Surfing Games will also qualify for the Olympics. As the host country, France will get spots for one male and one female. Other surfers will qualify via other ISA channels.

Surfing in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will take place at Teahupo'o in Tahiti and run from July 27-29, 2024.
