Olympic gold medalist and five-time world champ Carissa Moore’s been busy lately as the 2024 Paris Games are now starting to come into sharper focus. The Hawaiian surfer recently shared that she’s been shooting interviews and other footage for the NBC Olympic content for the Games this July.

Wearing the latest outfits from sponsor Hurley and armed with a beautiful, Matt Biolos-shaped surfboard, it’s a quick glimpse into the colors, spirit and stoked we can expect to see from Moore this summer in Tahiti.

One of the most accomplished surfers in the history of the sport, Moore won the first-ever Olympic gold medal for surfing in Japan in 2021. That year she also won the WSL world title. In 2022 and 2023 Moore finished runner-up for the title. And now, with the Olympic Games coming to Teahupo’o in Tahiti, she’s focusing on making history and winning back-to-back gold medals.

“This isn’t just about this gold medal moment — it’s about surfing, using the platform to share some positivity and love, all that kind of stuff,” Moore told Reuters shortly after winning the gold in Japan. “I hope it has a positive impact. The ocean has changed my life and I can’t imagine my life without it, I’ll be surfing until I’m in the ground.”

Moore will start her competitive season on the 2024 Championship Tour. Enjoying the benefit of kicking off her year at home in Hawaii, she first event of the season is the Pipe Pro, which she won last year, followed by the Hurley Pro Sunset Beach, another location she’s won at in the past. The Championship Tour will take a break this July for the Olympic Games, and if history is anything to go by, come this time next year we could be talking about Moore as both an Olympic gold medalist and world champion once again.
