The run on UFL players landing in the NFL continues with the Washington Commanders adding talent to their practice squad.

Wide receiver Davion Davis signed with the Commanders to join their practice squad, according to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson.

Davis was released by the Houston Texans last week after spending most of December on the practice squad. He also was with the Arizona Cardinals, signing with the team the day after the USFL season ended. Arizona kept him on the practice squad roster through November before being released.

His breakthrough performance came with the Stallions after being cut by the Houston Roughnecks early in the XFL season. After fellow wide receiver Marlon Williams went down with an Achilles injury in Week 1 of the USFL season, it opened the door for Davis to become one of the top receivers in the league.

The 27-year-old wide receiver finished second in the USFL in receiving yards with 575 and tied for fifth in receiving touchdowns with four. He played a key role in the Stallions capturing their second straight USFL title.

From 2019-22, Davis made the rounds in the NFL playing for three different teams, including the Minnesota Vikings, Cleveland Browns and Texans.

Davis was a standout in college at Sam Houston State, earning first-team FCS All-American in 2017 after catching 78 passes for 1,206 yards and 17 touchdowns. He finished his career with 226 receptions for 3,181 yards and 40 touchdowns in 49 games.

Notable Stallions in the NFL include Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey and Green Bay Packers quarterback Alex McGough.
