After the massive news of quarterback A.J. McCarron returning to the St. Louis Battlehawks, the team is not done adding talent. The Battlehawks have signed 2023 All-XFL defensive tackle Austin Faoliu, according to sources.

Faoliu joins the team after being in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks. He spent part of the year on the reserve/PUP list before joining the practice squad in November. For Week 17 and Week 18, he was active and playing for the Seahawks making one tackle.

Before the Seahawks, Faoliu was selected by the Seattle Sea Dragons in the 2022 Draft. He started all 10 games for the team, racking up 24 tackles and one sack. Pro Football Focus had him ranked as the third-best defensive lineman in the XFL, earning All-XFL honors at the end of the year.

The Dallas Cowboys signed Faoliu as an undrafted free agent in 2021. He played in one game during the season, making two tackles. Dallas waived him before being drafted by the Sea Dragons.

During his time with the Oregon Ducks, Faoliu played in 42 games registering 124 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, five sacks and three forced fumbles.

Kevin Atkins, Mandy Alonso and Antuwan Jackson are the current defensive tackles on the roster for the Battlehawks. Atkins was the main starter for St. Louis last season, starting nine of 10 games. Faoliu helps add to an already strong interior defensive line looking to make stops with the running game.

Training camp for the UFL begins Feb. 23, with the season starting on March 30 against the Michigan Panthers.
