Stamp Fairtex and Jonathan Haggerty Headline ONE’s Return to the United States
ONE Championship has its headline bouts for its return to the United States, Sports Illustrated has learned.
At ONE 168: Denver, the promotion’s return to the U.S. on Friday, September 6 at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, Stamp Fairtex will challenge Xiong Jing Nan for the ONE Women’s Strawweight MMA World Title.
Fairtex, who is already ONE Women’s Atomweight MMA World Champion and the first three-sport world champion in ONE history, will attempt a new feat by becoming a two-division titleholder.
Another title bout on the card is two-sport champion Jonathan Haggerty defending his Bantamweight Muay Thai World Championship against current ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion Superlek Kiatmoo9. This is a matchup of two of the best strikers on the planet, and the charismatic Haggerty has the potential to strongly connect with fight fans in the U.S.
Tickets for ONE 168: Denver go on sale Wednesday, April 24 via Ticketmaster, with exclusive pre-sale tickets beginning Wednesday, April 10 at 12pm ET. Following the sellout at the inaugural show in America last May, there are high hopes for ONE’s next step in its expansion into the U.S.
