AJ McKee on Bellator’s Unsung Heroes
Danny Brener will not be joining the PFL.
While Brener was not active in the cage, his contributions to Bellator over the past nine years in their public relations department were immeasurable. He is exactly the type of ambitious, honest, and kind person needed in MMA. Even though he is opting to pursue free agency, Brener should remain a priority for the PFL.
As Vice President of Communications and Public Relations, Brener worked closely with CJ Tuttle, a senior public relations manager who is joining the PFL’s PR team. Tuttle is a great addition, and the trust he earned with fighters is a key reason why he has been so successful.
AJ McKee, a former featherweight champion who has fought his entire career in Bellator, highlighted the behind-the-scenes contributions of Brener and Tuttle.
“Danny Brener, CJ, those are my aces,” said McKee. “They’ve been just phenomenal since the beginning. They’ve stuck by my side. They help with anything and everything I could possibly need, including areas outside of PR. I want to hire them as my own publicists.”
McKee expressed his gratitude to Brener and Tuttle, who both worked tirelessly for Bellator fighters to garner the attention they deserved.
“They’re great humans, and having good people around you is what it’s all about,” said McKee. “They’ve always been there for me, and I hope they’re part of the journey wherever I go.”
