Raul Rosas Jr. re-entered the win column on Saturday.

In a bout against Terrence Mitchell at UFC Noche, Rosas (8-1) needed only 54 seconds to secure the victory. He fought angrily and aggressively, effectively removing the sour taste of defeat that he suffered at his last bout in April.

“Actions speak louder than words,” said Rosas. “A lot of people were talking about my last loss, and there was nothing I could say to change it. I needed to say less and make my performance do more.”

This was the most impressive performance of Rosas’ career, earning his first TKO in the Octagon. Once his vicious left hand knocked Mitchell (14-4) off his feet, Rosas ended the fight with a nonstop ground-and-pound assault.

“I wanted to show my power,” said Rosas. “He’s a really tough, powerful opponent, but I had a lot to prove. This fight was another step toward my dreams.”

The statement victory was deemed worthy of a Performance of the Night bonus. Only 18 years old and still living at home, Rosas noted that he relishes the chance to share that $50,000 with his loved ones.

“That money goes to my family,” said Rosas. “I wouldn’t be here without them. I’m blessed to have the parents I do. I want to give them the best life.”

As for what comes next, Rosas will seek a tougher challenge. He will likely face an opponent just outside the top 15 of the bantamweight division.

“You know me, I like to stay active,” said Rosas. “I’ll speak with my team, and hopefully we’ll have a new fight soon.”
