UFC 5 launches on October 27.

UFC 5 is the most realistic MMA experience fans can have outside of the Octagon,” UFC President Dana White said in the official press release. “This game is incredible and truly a next-generation UFC experience.”

EA Sports intends to set a new standard with the game. The action is incredibly realistic, and there are layers of strategy involved. If a fighter suffers a broken nose, like Luke Rockhold did last summer against Paulo Costa at UFC 278, then that affects their breathing and stamina. There is also a revamped live element that connects to fight picks for current UFC cards.

UFC 5 is overflowing with detailed new features. There are doctor’s checks and stoppages, new strikes and hit animations, and cinematic knockout replays, as well as a focus on seamless transitions. More features include fight week contracts and a career mode that begins at the UFC Performance Institute.

The Deluxe Edition also includes Fedor Emelianenko, Muhammad Ali, and Mike Tyson. Emelianenko was expected to sign with the UFC in 2007 and fight Randy Couture, then a couple years later for a bout against Brock Lesnar, but those deals never materialized. This is a chance to finally see Emelianenko in the Octagon, which is unlikely to ever occur outside of UFC 5.
