Earlier this spring, Jorge Masvidal retired from mixed martial arts.

The former UFC star still has a presence in the sport, most recently awarding Justin Gaethje with the BMF belt at the conclusion of UFC 291. But Masvidal still has a competitive hunger to compete, which he could do in boxing, as well as entertain, and he would consider working for WWE if the offer was right.

“If the shoe fits, wear it,” says Masvidal. “I’m very busy, but if the compensation makes sense, then let’s do it.”

Masvidal briefly appeared for AEW in the fall of 2021, recreating his famed flying knee that he used to knock out Ben Askren on Chris Jericho. Ultimately, it never materialized into a match or program.

Since WWE is in the process of getting bought by Endeavor, the UFC’s parent company, Masvidal could see a scenario where he works on Raw or SmackDown.

“If the WWE wants a savage like me, then sign me up,” says Masvidal. “I’ll go over to WWE and domesticate those guys.”

It is also possible that WWE would prefer to avoid any negative press surrounding Masvidal due to the severity of his reported attack on Colby Covington in March of 2022. Masvidal is facing two felony charges of battery and criminal mischief. The case seemingly has no end in sight, and the earliest this could possibly go to trial is November.

Masvidal is also very active with his promotion, Gamebred Bareknuckle, which holds its next show–headlined by Junior Dos Santos and Fabricio Werdum, two former UFC heavyweight champions who fought at UFC 90 in 2008–on September 8.

“My number-one focus is my promotion,” says Masvidal. “We’ve got another four shows this year, and from my mouth to God’s ears, twelve shows next year. That has all my attention. I’m out there hunting talent, matchmaking, getting the venues. That’s what I love.”

But an appearance from Masvidal could spark a segment or two, which is always welcomed on Raw. There would be no guarantee, but if he worked with the right opponent, Masvidal could add value to the show.

“I love fighting,” says Masvidal. “If I go to WWE, I’ll put a hurting on them every night. I’ll torture them, make life f------ hell for all of them. No one over there can beat me.”
