Seth Rollins on Curb Stomping Any Pro Athlete: ‘It’s Got To Be Aaron Rodgers’
If Seth Rollins could Curb Stomp any professional athlete, he knows exactly who he would choose.
“It’s got to be Aaron Rodgers, man,” said Rollins. “I’m a Bears fan–I had to deal with that for years and years and years. Just suffering, him just owning my team. By the end of it, he was just making light of it because it was so easy for him.
“I’d love to put a boot in the back of his head. That’d be great.”
Speaking with Sports Illustrated at Radio Row in Las Vegas, Rollins discussed his torn MCL, vowing that he will have no issue being cleared for WrestleMania 40 (“No doubt, doubt–I will be back before WrestleMania”), as well as extended his support for Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields.
Rollins also touched on the controversial return of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Unlike “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, a fellow wrestling icon who returned two years ago to wrestle on night one of WrestleMania 38, the possibility exists that Johnson will be involved in this year’s main event, potentially taking that spot from a current star on the roster.
“I love The Rock,” said Rollins. “I grew up watching The Rock. I think he’s fantastic. I powerbombed the man [once] about 10 years ago. But WWE is on a hot streak right now, and we’ve been doing it the past few years without Dwayne Johnson.”
A locker room leader for WWE, Rollins noted that while it is great to have Johnson back in WWE, it should not come at the expense of those who are bringing life to the current product.
“I love that he’s here, I love that he’s bringing his Hollywood flair,” said Rollins. “That’s real nice. If he wants to ride on the coattails, he can ride on the coattails.”
