A video that went viral earlier this week showcased legendary wrestling figure Paul Heyman proclaiming that he is the greatest manager in pro wrestling history.

The moment took place on ESPN’s First Take. Initially, only Roman Reigns was scheduled to appear on the show, as the focus was centered around his upcoming title match at SummerSlam against Jey Uso. But multiple sources from ESPN confirmed that changed when First Take host Stephen A. Smith learned Heyman had accompanied Reigns to the set at Seaport District Studios in New York City.

Smith saw Heyman when he greeted Reigns. That led to a discussion with his producer, and the decision was quickly reached that Heyman should also appear on the show.

Smith’s producer made that request to Reigns, who approved of the addition. That ultimately led to Heyman’s ingenious insults of Bobby “The Brain” Heenan and the “Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart on First Take.

A passionate wrestling fan, Smith was wise to include Heyman in the segment, as it trended worldwide on multiple platforms.
