Alex Pereira, Max Holloway Deliver Career-Defining Performances at UFC 300

UFC 300 was the card of the year before the pay-per-view even started.

Then the main card started.

That led to a compelling bout that saw Arman Tsarukyan narrowly edge Charles Oliveira. Zhang Weili successfully defended her women’s strawweight title by unanimous decision against Yan Xiaonan, and Bo Nickal extended his undefeated streak as he put away Cody Brundage.

The highlight of the night took place in the BMF fight. An intense battle was stopped with one second remaining, as Max Holloway knocked out Justin Gaethje. That was a five-round dogfight, and it ended with Holloway knocking out Gaethje with one second remaining in the fight.

Many moments helped define UFC 300, including an impressive Octagon debut for two-time Olympic gold medalist Kayla Harrison. Yet none was more dominant than Alex Pereira putting Jamahal Hill to sleep in the main event, defending the light heavyweight title and reaching an entirely new level of greatness.

Speaking in the Octagon during his post-fight interview, Pereira expressed his desire to fight in Brazil–and compete at heavyweight. If a bout pitting Pereira against interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall is added to the UFC 301 card on May 4, which takes place in Brazil, then it will offer another opportunity for Pereira to make his claim as one of the most dominant fighters in UFC history.
