Paige Wasn't Surprised That Nikki Bella Turned on Her at WWE SummerSlam

Paige had a feeling that Nikki Bella would stab her in the back at WWE SummerSlam.

Paige saw Nikki Bella's betrayal at WWE SummerSlam coming a mile away.

Just a few short months ago, it appeared that Paige and the Bellas were inseparable. After Nikki Bella suffered an unfortunate injury on the road to WrestleMania 42, the sisters turned to Paige to return to the company and fill Nikki's spot in the WWE Women's Tag Team Title match.

Paige and Brie Bella would be successful in capturing the titles at the Showcase of the Immortals. And while that should be viewed as a happy moment in her career, Paige has been suspicious of Nikki's true feelings since that very night.

Paige was suspicious of Nikki Bella after WrestleMania hug

Paige recently spoke with So Cal Val at Comic Con Wales. When the subject of the Bellas' recent betrayal at SummerSlam came up, Paige admitted she suspected Nikki Bella would eventually turn on her after they shared a hug in the ring at WrestleMania 42.

"After we won the championships at WrestleMania, the hug that she gave me afterward and the freaking side-eyes she was giving me, I was like, 'Oh, it's not gonna be too long until she turns on me.'" Paige admitted. "And I kind of expected it at SummerSlam too, especially.

"I gave Brie a really long hug. I don't know if you guys noticed, but I gave her a long hug after the SummerSlam match. I was just like, 'This feels really sad.' I mean, everyone expected it. Let's be real, right? It's Nikki Bella. You know, Nikki's a b----!"

Will The Bellas ever get a run as WWE Women's Tag Team Champions?

Before Paige was a surprise addition to the WWE Women's Tag Team Title match at WrestleMania 42, it was clear that Nikki and Brie were set to capture the titles for the first time at the Showcase of the Immortals.

Nikki worked tirelessly to return from her ankle injury, but in a brutal twist of fate, Brie Bella suffered an injury during their match at SummerSlam. Now with Paige on the outs with the sisters, Nikki Bella finds herself on her own in the battle against Paige in the coming weeks on SmackDown.

Fans originally speculated this could have led to the Bellas feuding with Paige and AJ Lee or even the recently called-up Tatum Paxley. However, it's now clear WWE will need to go in a new direction while Brie recovers from her broken scapula.

But with an injury that will sideline Brie for three to six months, the window of opportunity for the Bellas to capture the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles decreases dramatically. Will they ever hold those titles together? Only time will tell.
