2024 Charles Schwab Challenge Full Field: 11 of World Top 30 Including Scottie Scheffler
After a week’s break for the season’s second major, the PGA Tour returns for the second part of its Texas two-step in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
Colonial Country Club is one of the Tour’s classic venues, hosting tournaments since 1946. For the sixth year, it’s called the Charles Schwab Challenge and a solid field will be on hand especially considering its spot on the golf calendar one week after a major.
Eleven of the top 30 in the Official World Golf Ranking are scheduled to compete, led by world No. 1 and Dallas resident Scottie Scheffler. He has an arraignment Tuesday morning in Louisville, Ky., in the aftermath of his Friday arrest at the PGA Championship and as of Monday morning it was unknown if he would appear in person.
Jordan Spieth is among the top players in the 133-player invitational field, also playing in a home game. Ditto Tom Kim. Defending champion Emiliano Grillo returns, as does 2022 champion Sam Burns and 2020 winner Daniel Berger.
They’ll all take on Colonial, a 7,289-yard par-70 that puts an emphasis on precision, appropriate for the club’s most famous member and five-time champion, Ben Hogan.
