SAN ANTONIO -- The 2024 Valero Texas Open wasn't elevated by the Tour to signature status, but it's still offering a hefty payday and a larger purse from 2023.

Sunday offered $1.656 million to the winner from a $9.1 million purse, a bump from $8.9 million last year. Akshay Bhatia is taking that big check home, the biggest of his career.

The 22-year-old Californian made a clutch 11-foot putt on the 72nd hole to get into a playoff after Denny McCarthy shot a back-nine 28 to soar up the leaderboard and nearly steal the event outright. In the playoff, McCarthy hit a stunning wedge approach fat into the water at the par-5 18th, while Bhatia made birdie to secure his second PGA Tour win. The win gets him into the Masters.

Here's the final payouts from TPC San Antonio.
