GolfThreads: Father's Day Golf Gift Guide
Don’t want to get your golf-lovin’ dad the same tired old polo for Father’s Day? No worries, we have some ideas to break the monotony.
SOLO Golf Co.
There is much talk these days about supporting small, local businesses. And rightfully so! SOLO Golf Co. is the husband-wife team of Dan and Tessa from my neighboring town of Scituate, Massachusetts. Their style is uniquely New England; coastal-golf, if you will. These American-made, transitional pieces will have you standing out on and off the course. I highly recommend checking out the Long Sleeve Band Collar-Chambray shirt.
Fairway & Greene
Dad always taught us to never forget where we came from, right? Not only is Fairway & Greene headquartered in NYC, but it also makes its entire Performance Polo line in New York. In response to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the city they call home, the folks at Fairway & Greene were looking for a way to give back. Now until July 4th use code WELOVENY and save 10% on Made in the USA product and Fairway & Greene will donate 10% to the New York-Presbyterian Phyllis and David Komansky Children’s Hospital.
Some of my favorite styles include the Valley Quarter Zip and the USA Mini Stripe Jersey Polo.
Adidas Golf
While we are on the topic of doing some good, let’s take a look at a pair of high-performance golf shoes that will also reduce dad’s carbon footprint. We saw Dustin Johnson wear these at the TaylorMade Driving Relief Charity Match a few weeks back. We were smitten then and still are. The Adidas CODECHAOS PRIMEBLUE are made from upcycled plastic bottles as part of Adidas’ PRIMEBLUE initiative to end plastic waste. They are super lightweight and provide Boost midsole and Fitfoam cushioning for maximum comfort.
Puma Golf
I think we would all agree that now, more than ever, we need as much peace and love as we can get. The Puma Haight Golf Polo is all about peace, love, and golf. Help dad to embrace his inner hippie and get a little funky while swinging free-and-easy like a real free-spirit in this tie-dye polo.
OGIO
Many states are discouraging, and in some cases forbidding the use of golf carts and caddies. Massachusetts, just this week began to allow single rider carts. As a result, it’s been fun watching my buddies who usually refuse to walk, carry their bags. Over the past few weeks I’ve been asked time and time again what stand bag I recommend; the OGIO FUSE Stand Bag 4 is one of the most comfortable bags on the market. It’s Integrated Fit Disc strap system distributes weight across your shoulders while the intuitive design places pockets right where you need them. Plus, at only 4.82 lbs it is light as a fuse!
Jones Sports Company
With most golf clubs nationwide having to close down their locker-rooms a duffle or shoe bag is a terrific gift idea. My favorite golf-inspired bags are from Jones Sports Company. In fact, if my kids are reading this, I really need a new duffle bag!
Cuater
No doubt, the old man could use a fresh new pair of kicks to wear to the course (and beyond). Cuater is killing it with their footwear! The PHENOM is the perfect summer shoe. In fact, I would say it is this year’s must-own men’s shoe. It is crafted from premium knit and soft leather accents. Its subtle style and phenomenal comfort allow it to be worn on any occasion. While you are at it, grab dad a cool pair of socks to go with. Maybe these? Please, however, remind him that they should never be worn with sandals!
Swing Juice
Finally, if you are on a budget but still want to get something totally righteous, check out Swing Juice and their whimsical collection of T-Shirts. You can never have enough cool tees.
Good Walk Coffee Company
Or, get dad what he really loves. COFFEE. Good Walk Coffee Company will not disappoint.
