G/Fore's new MG4+ shoe goes the extra step
G/Fore, the luxury lifestyle brand and golf footwear innovator, has released its new MG4+ (MG4 Plus) golf shoe for men that showcases the brand’s ability to combine technical performance with distinctive design.
G/Fore's "Coming Soon" teasers on social media and email blasts created intrigue and hype, but the proof is in this rigorously tested, technically-loaded and aesthetically modern shoe.
Just like the original MG4 knit upper model, the new Plus has the same washable, premium triple density foam cushion footbed and auxetic lattice midsole. Auxetic is a foam patterned material that serves as a shock absorber that no matter how or which way it compresses under your foot, it bounces back to provide superior support, comfort and footbed longevity.
That’s inside the shoe — outside there’s more tech. In addition to a waterproof exterior, a 3D-molded external heel cup provides additional lateral reinforcement to keep feet locked in through every swing phase. The outsole is engineered with a two-piece rubber non-slip configuration paired with a hybrid knurled (small ridges on the edge or surface), and sawtooth traction pattern anatomically designed to provide flexibility.
"The stability and locked-in feel is what really impresses me with the MG4 Plus,” said Casey Hoch, USA sales manager for G/Fore. “It forms to your foot with a cushiony comfort that is second to none. The midsole lattice provides a great 'bounce' and energy return whether you are taking full swings or just walking the fairways."
Retailing at $185, the MG4+ collection includes six colorways — snow camo (white with camo print on bottom of shoe), nimbus (light grey), charcoal, twilight (navy), onyx (black) and snow (white). Except for the nibus, which will debut in August, all are currently available online and in stores.
“The MG4 Plus was painstakingly designed to consider the needs of every golfer — from tour to recreational players — and potential course conditions with a fully waterproof upper and non-slip outsole,” said Nicole Castrogiovanni, president of G/Fore in the company’s press release. “And, of course, we’re also delivering the superior comfort and modern, unique style our customers have come to expect from G/Fore.”
All styles feature subtle G/Fore branding on the heel cap along with complimentary color accents on the shoe uppers and soles.
