Two weeks after boosting the prize purse at the men's British Open to a record level, the R&A announced a record-breaking prize purse this week at the AIG Women's Open at Walton Heath.

The women played for a $9 million purse, with $1.35 million to the winner in the third-largest prize purse in the women's game this year.

The big money is going home with Lilia Vu, who won her second major of 2023 by a whopping six shots. She also won the Chevron Championship in April.
