Sahith Theegala is a first-time official PGA Tour winner, winning before an adoring, loud crowd at the Fortinet Championship in Napa, California.

The event featured two U.S. Ryder Cuppers are in the field in Justin Thomas and Max Homa, and both showed well in a final tuneup before Rome with fifth and T7 finishes.

But the story on Sunday was all Theegala, who shot 68 to win by two shots. He was the only player to turn in four rounds in the 60s and his 21 under tied the tournament record (Stewart Cink, 2020). 

Theegala won the QBE Shootout in December 2022 with partner Tom Hoge, but the Fortinet is an official PGA Tour event.
